Effective date: September 23, 2026
HOST209 is committed to operating hosting services in a way that protects customers, infrastructure and the broader internet community. This Security & Abuse Policy explains how HOST209 addresses security incidents, malicious activity, abuse reports and threats involving services hosted on or connected to HOST209 infrastructure.
1. Security Responsibilities
HOST209 is responsible for maintaining the security of the infrastructure and systems it operates within the scope of its services. Customers are responsible for securing their own accounts, passwords, websites, applications, plugins, themes, databases and content. Security is therefore a shared responsibility.
2. Reporting Security Incidents
Suspected compromise, phishing, malware, spam, unauthorized access, abusive traffic or other security issues involving a HOST209 service should be reported through the support channel. Reports should include the domain or IP address, URLs when relevant, timestamps, screenshots, logs or other evidence that can help the investigation.
3. Account Compromise
If a customer believes an account has been compromised, the customer should immediately change passwords from a trusted device, secure the associated email account, review administrator accounts, check for unexpected changes and contact HOST209. Customers should not delete all evidence before support has had an opportunity to assess the incident when an investigation may be useful.
4. Malware
HOST209 may investigate malware reports and may restrict affected files, domains or accounts when necessary to protect customers and infrastructure. Remediation can involve malware removal, software updates, credential resets, application review and restoration from a clean backup. Customers remain responsible for the security of software installed in their hosting account.
5. Phishing
Phishing pages and deceptive websites designed to obtain credentials, payment information or personal data are prohibited. HOST209 may act quickly on credible phishing reports because these activities can cause immediate harm to visitors and third parties.
6. Network Attacks
Denial-of-service attacks, unauthorized scanning intended to facilitate intrusion, exploitation attempts against third parties, botnet activity and other network abuse are prohibited. If HOST209 infrastructure is targeted, traffic may be filtered or restricted to protect service availability.
7. Abuse Investigations
HOST209 may review technical logs, account information and service activity when investigating credible abuse or security incidents, subject to applicable law and privacy requirements. Investigations are intended to determine whether a service is compromised, whether a policy violation occurred and what action is necessary.
8. Emergency Restrictions
When immediate action is reasonably necessary to prevent active harm, protect infrastructure, comply with law or stop malicious activity, HOST209 may temporarily suspend or restrict a service before the investigation is complete. Where practical and legally permitted, the customer will receive information about the reason and available remediation steps.
9. Customer Remediation
Customers may be asked to update software, remove malicious files, reset credentials, disable compromised plugins, provide information or take other reasonable steps. If the customer cannot remediate an active threat, HOST209 may restrict the affected service until the risk is addressed.
10. Security Testing
Authorized security testing should be conducted only with permission from the system owner and should not interfere with HOST209 infrastructure or other customers. Customers must not conduct penetration testing or vulnerability scanning against systems they do not own or lack authorization to test.
11. Law Enforcement and Legal Requests
HOST209 may respond to valid legal process and lawful requests from government authorities. Where permitted, requests may be evaluated for scope and legal sufficiency. Emergency disclosures may be handled according to applicable law and circumstances.
12. Responsible Disclosure
Researchers who discover a vulnerability involving HOST209 systems should report it through the support channel with enough technical detail to reproduce the issue. Researchers should avoid accessing customer data, modifying systems, disrupting service or publicly disclosing an exploitable vulnerability before HOST209 has had a reasonable opportunity to investigate.
13. Backups and Recovery
Customers should maintain independent backups. HOST209 may use backup and recovery systems as part of service operations, but customers should not rely exclusively on provider backups for critical information. Recovery requirements can vary according to the incident and service configuration.
14. Abuse of Support Channels
Support systems must not be used for harassment, threats, malicious files, fraudulent requests or attempts to obtain information about another customer. HOST209 may restrict abusive use of support channels while preserving legitimate customer support access.
15. Changes
Security threats and best practices evolve. HOST209 may update this policy to address new threats, technologies and legal requirements. The current version will be posted on HOST209.COM.

Operational Principles
HOST209 applies these rules in a manner intended to balance reliable service, customer privacy, security and lawful operation. We consider the nature of the service, the seriousness of an issue, the potential effect on other customers, available evidence and applicable legal requirements when taking action. Where a customer can reasonably correct a problem without creating immediate risk, we generally prefer a clear explanation and an opportunity to remediate. Where an issue presents an immediate security, legal or operational risk, faster restrictions may be necessary.
Customers should maintain accurate account information, use secure credentials, keep website applications updated, maintain independent backups and promptly communicate material service or security problems. These practices help HOST209 investigate issues efficiently and help customers protect their own businesses and visitors.
Questions about these policies can be submitted through the HOST209 support process or by using the contact information published on this website. When a request concerns a specific account, domain or legal right, HOST209 may request information reasonably necessary to verify the requester and identify the relevant service.
Administration, Verification and Requests
HOST209 may need to verify the identity, account authority or legal standing of a person making a request. Verification helps protect customers from unauthorized disclosure of account information and helps ensure that changes are made only by authorized persons. Verification may involve information already associated with the account, a support ticket, documentation, or other reasonable measures appropriate to the request.
For security reasons, customers should never place complete payment-card numbers, passwords, authentication codes or private cryptographic keys in ordinary support messages. If a support request requires sensitive information, HOST209 may provide an appropriate method for submitting it. Customers should also be cautious of unsolicited messages that claim to be from HOST209 and request credentials or urgent payment.
When a policy permits an exception, HOST209 may consider the circumstances individually. For example, an account may be affected by a compromised plugin, an unexpected traffic spike, a third-party attack, a domain dispute, or a legal request. The appropriate response may depend on whether the issue is ongoing, whether other customers are affected, whether immediate action is required and what remedies are available.
Cooperation and Records
HOST209 maintains business and technical records as reasonably necessary to operate services, provide support, prevent abuse, process transactions, investigate incidents, comply with legal requirements and resolve disputes. Records may include account events, support communications, service transactions, technical logs and security information. Access to such records is limited according to operational need and applicable law.
Customers are encouraged to retain their own records of important transactions, website content, licenses, backups, domain information and communications. Maintaining independent records can be especially important for businesses that rely on a website for sales, customer communication or regulatory obligations.
HOST209 may cooperate with registries, payment processors, infrastructure providers, security organizations, courts, law enforcement and other authorized parties when cooperation is reasonably necessary and legally permitted or required. Information disclosed in such circumstances is limited according to the applicable request and law.
Customer Responsibilities After Service Changes
When a customer changes hosting services, transfers a domain, cancels an account or migrates a website, the customer remains responsible for ensuring that the website, domain, email and other related services continue to operate as intended. Customers should plan DNS changes, retain backups and verify critical functions after a migration or service change.
Customers should also remove obsolete credentials, integrations and administrator accounts after a project or relationship ends. This reduces the possibility that an old account, plugin or integration becomes an unnecessary security risk. HOST209 may provide reasonable technical information about its service, but customers remain responsible for third-party systems that are outside HOST209’s control.
Policy Interpretation
These policies are intended to operate together with the HOST209 Terms & Conditions and any service-specific agreement. If a mandatory law, registry policy or other binding requirement conflicts with a provision in a policy, the mandatory requirement controls to the extent of the conflict. Nothing in these policies is intended to waive a right or remedy that cannot legally be waived.
Service and Privacy Practices
HOST209 seeks to use information and service data in ways that are reasonably connected to the services customers request. Operational information can help identify outages, troubleshoot account problems, protect infrastructure, investigate unusual activity and improve reliability. When a process can be completed using less information, HOST209 may seek to minimize the information involved. Customers should likewise avoid placing unnecessary sensitive information in website files, forms, databases or support tickets.
Where a customer operates a website that collects information from visitors, the customer should review the data flows created by forms, analytics, advertising tools, payment systems, contact systems, newsletters and embedded services. The customer should publish appropriate privacy and cookie information and configure consent or opt-out mechanisms where required. Hosting the website does not transfer these responsibilities to HOST209.
Service availability and technical performance can depend on networks, upstream providers, domain systems, customer software, third-party integrations and events outside HOST209’s direct control. Customers should plan for ordinary operational risks by maintaining backups, documenting important configuration details and keeping access to their domain registrar and hosting account secure.
HOST209 may periodically update systems, security controls, infrastructure components or support processes. Changes can be necessary to address vulnerabilities, improve reliability, comply with law or maintain compatibility. Where a change materially affects a customer service and notice is appropriate, HOST209 may provide notice through the methods available for that service.
Questions and Communication
Customers can contact HOST209 through the support and contact channels published on HOST209.COM. A clear request helps us respond efficiently. Include the affected domain, account identifier when appropriate, a description of the issue, the approximate time it began and any relevant error message. Do not include passwords or full payment-card information in a support request.
HOST209 may communicate service information by email, support ticket, account notice or other contact method associated with the customer account. Customers are responsible for keeping contact information current so important notices can be received. Security-sensitive communications may require additional verification before account changes are made.
Ongoing Review
Policies are reviewed as HOST209 services, customer needs, security threats and legal requirements evolve. A modern hosting service may involve multiple technical layers, including domain systems, web servers, databases, content management software, security controls, payment systems and external service providers. Each layer can introduce different operational or legal considerations. HOST209 may revise procedures to keep those layers operating together responsibly.
Customers should review the policies periodically and should make sure their own websites, applications and business practices remain current. In particular, customers should review account permissions, domain registration information, billing contacts, backups, software updates, privacy disclosures and third-party integrations when making significant changes to a website or business.
If a customer has a question about how a policy applies to a particular service, the customer should contact HOST209 before taking an action that could affect an account, domain or hosted website. Providing complete information at the beginning of a request helps reduce unnecessary delays and allows the issue to be directed to the appropriate support process.
